Job Description
- Working with project and solution teams to understand business and design goals and then selecting the best approach to create a highly usable solution.
- Conducting contextual inquiries, through customer visits and interviews, to gain an understanding of users and their goals.
- Designing and creating conceptual models, prototypes for user interactions, and user personas.
- Performing heuristic analysis and competitive product analysis.
- Developing user interface designs and prototypes, collaborating with users, product owners, development teams and other stakeholders.
- Conducting usability testing, documenting and presenting results and recommendations.
- Creating, maintaining, and promoting usability standards, procedures, best practices, and knowledge across the organization encompassing screen design and workflow.
- Following industry research, trends, and evolving platforms and technologies related to user experience.
- Information Architecture/Information Design.
Job Qualifications
- 6 – 8 years industry experience supporting and introducing usability activities into an established enterprise.
- Thorough knowledge and experience with User-Centered Design practices; contextual inquiry and user research, persona development, heuristic evaluation, competitive analysis, interface design, rapid prototyping and participatory design, usability testing.Experience with user research techniques and interface prototyping tools (e.q. Visio, Axure, iRise, Photoshop).
- Familiarity with usability design theory and development process.
- Strong in designing new experiences as well as refactoring existing ones.
- Experience applying Web 2.0, social media and community design principles to create a compelling and engaging designs.
- Strong analytics skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- Excellent prioritization, organization, and time management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to consistently deliver projects and customer value.
- Ability to work independently and handle change and shifting work priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Master’s degree in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Usability Engineering, Cognitive Psychology or related field is helpful.
